Golden Advices From Hacı Katip Efendi (k.s.)

Surrender and loyalty to the sheikh should be essential. None of the so-called acts are of any use to the dervish. This path taken for Allah (c.c) requires submission, honesty, sincerity, loyalty and effort. Spiritual education which is long and grueling, under the guidance of the sheikh, with the permission and grace of Allah (c.c.),is completed when the dervish strictly complies with the assigned duties. Since the road is long and very arduous, also the aspirant must be patient, understanding and devoted. Don’t close the doors that you see goodness! They can be needed again one day. Virtue is found with truthfulness, sincerity and loyalty. Where there is no loyalty, others do not stop.
